This state is as diverse as it comes–from the stadiums of downtown Detroit to the hidden waterfalls of the Upper Peninsula, there is always something fun to do. Here at MiMittenState, we’d like to help you make that choice with a look at merely a few of the fun events taking place this weekend.
For those line-dancers and country music fans among us, don’t miss Michigan’s Big Country Fest! Taking place both tonight and tomorrow from 6pm to midnight at Frankenmuth’s Heritage Park, this festival is sure to get your boots tapping and stomachs growling–featuring six live bands and award-winning BBQ. Stop on by!
Those Michiganders from or traveling to the north can help gear up for Halloween by stopping by the Little Traverse Bay Parafest. Held at the Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant in Petoskey, there will be no shortage of spooks from the Ghost Walks and Haunted History tours. It’s hard to believe a place so gorgeous can feel so bone-chilling!
We can’t all make it to Petoskey though, and so for the movie fans out there, don’t miss The Great Lakes Comic-Con tonight and tomorrow at the Macomb Sports & Expo Center! Dress up as your favorite movie character and enter the costume contests, both for kids and adults, or just check out the studio booths and the guest of honor, Jim Steranko!
There is so much to do wherever you are, you just have to find the fun! Enjoy what you’re doing this weekend and appreciate this great state! There’s no place like home…
