We’re all Seger fans, right? C’mon, Night Moves? Old Time Rock ‘n Roll? Like a Rock?
For those fans who didn’t know, the rock star released his latest album, Ride Out, last Tuesday (Oct. 14). The big news was that Ride Out placed third on the national charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan, which ties Like a Rock for the best album release of his career.

It’s not just that he’s originally from Michigan–born in Dearborn and raised in Ann Arbor–but to this day he remains a Michigan resident. In the summers he frequents the Harbor Springs area, where he owns a vacation home, and has been seen numerous times visiting tourist attractions in the area–including traveling on Shepler’s Ferry to Mackinac Island.
“I’ve always loved the Great Lakes. I love to boat. I’ve always loved what we call ‘Up North,’ ” Seger told the Ann Arbor News in a 2011 interview.
In every way, Seger holds the same love, loyalty and pride for this state as the rest of us do. It would be nearly impossible not to.
