Why Things Are Like That

I set out on what was supposed to be a three day road trip with my friend Amy on Tuesday morning, only to find out very quickly that we were in for quite the adventure.

We drove to the U.P. and had planned to hit up a few touristy sites each day and sleep in my car at night. Our touristy sites began with a nice walk through Mackinaw City, crossing the bridge, then stopping at the St. Ignace Lighthouse before heading to the Soo Locks to watch a freighter go through the locks. Aside from the heat, the trip was off to a great start. When we left Sault St. Marie, our destination that night was Paradise, Michigan. I mean, who wouldn’t want to sleep in Paradise?
