Everything You Need to Know About the Michigan State Fair

NOVI, Mich. — With the summer winding down and the holiday weekend rapidly approaching, now is the time to get out and enjoy the best of what the great state of Michigan has to offer. And what better way than to experience the annual Michigan State Fair.2016FTBMSFslide

Founded in 1849 in Detroit, the fair resided in the Motor City until legislation failed to pass in 2009 that would have continued providing funding for the fair, which saw steadily declining visitors over the previous few decades. The fair’s revitalization, however, came two years later when the Great Lakes State Fair operated out of Novi in 2012. One year later, the fair received its original name when Fifth Third Bank stepped up as the leading sponsor, and it was once again the Michigan State Fair.

For those who make it an annual event to attend, the MSF never disappoints. And for those who have rarely or never attended, we suggest penciling it into the calendar this Labor Day Weekend. Below is everything you’ll need to know about this year’s fair.
