GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — For the eighth-consecutive year, since its founding in 2009, ArtPrize will hit downtown Grand Rapids.
Free to the public, the event will run from September 21st to October 9th. For those 19 days, art from around the world will be on display for visitors to enjoy and evaluate in what its founders described as the “world’s largest art price based solely on a public vote.” Three square miles of the downtown area will be utilized for this year’s ArtPrize.
The 2015 Public Vote Grand Prize went to Northwood Awakening by Loveless PhotoFiber, “A large photographic print and quilt hybrid depicting a serene woodland panorama.”
The 2015 Jurors’ Grand Prize went to High Ground by Kate Gilmore, “A transformational performance piece that explore the dynamic of power and the construct of femininity.”
